I won't be going with Tidal.Music streaming services (such as Spotify and Apple Music) have completely changed the way a huge number of us listen to music. I wish Deezer had higher payouts for artists because they have everything else going for them, and I'll be going for another year with Deezer. I don't know where Tidal is getting their masters but they need to seriously reevaluate their sources. Tidal sounds considerably more compressed and lacking in dynamic range, even on non-MQA (which I know is crap) songs. With the exact same song playing in both services (with volume matched), Deezer consistently sounded better even though I'm not using the hifi option. Also Tidal's iOS app lacks many basic features like EQ.īut what really surprised me was the sound quality difference. You cannot play music offline with Tidal's desktop app and that's. Tidal's desktop app is more stable and less prone to random connection issues, but it is more barebones than Deezer's.
